Narrative & Gameplay:
Gerard, the always-angry grail-knight: Furious after learning of his master's disappearance, Gerard dives head-first into a series of dangerous dungeons to find and rescue his mentor.
One button Metroïdvania: Gerard never stops moving forward, make use of mechanisms and items hidden in the dungeon while succeeding skill checks, killing enemies and avoiding traps to make it all the way to the end.
Responsibilities:
Solo dev: Created everything from 2D art assets, animation, C# code, level design and sound integration to create 3 levels playable in roughly 5-10 minutes total.
Key takeaways:
Leverage design limitations to create a strong gameplay and narrative fantasy, making it part of the universe's logic.
Learn all aspects of game development in limited fashion.
